The 19th Annual Canadian Health Economists’ Study Group (CHESG) Conference, previously scheduled for May 20-21, 2020, is taking place online May 27-28, 2021.
There will be eight papers presented and one keynote. Each paper will be allotted 30 minutes, consisting of a 15 minute presentation of the paper by a nominated discussant, 5 minute response by the paper author(s) and 10 minutes of general discussion. Three of the eight papers will be reserved for students and early career researchers. The conference program is as follows: Thursday May 27

La 19e rencontre annuelle du Groupe canadien d’étude en économie de la santé, initialement prévu les 20-21 mai 2020, se tiendra en ligne les 27-28 mai 2021.
La rencontre aura au programme 8 articles scientifiques, et une conférence principale. Trente minutes seront allouées pour chacun des articles au programme, réparties de la façon suivante : Un un commentateur identifié par le comité scientifique présentera d’abord l’article pendant 15 minutes, l’auteur.e disposera ensuite de 5 minutes afin d’offrir des éléments de réponse et des précisions, et 10 minutes seront finalement réservées pour des échanges avec les participants. Long-term Care: An Introduction to the Economic Issues
Arthur Sweetman is a Professor in the Department of Economics at McMaster University where he holds the Ontario Research Chair in Health Human Resources. He is also a member of McMaster’s Center for Health Economics and Policy Analysis (CHEPA). Previously, he was the Director of the School of Policy Studies at Queen’s University in Kingston where he held the Stauffer-Dunning Chair in Policy Studies. Currently he is a co-editor of the Canadian Journal of Economics and undertakes quantitative research on health economics and social policy.
